I was lucky enough to be invited to DJ for the parties marking the re-opening of the Design Museum in South Kensington, London. Together with Jason, my partner-in-crime in the Sheen Resistance, we played the whole evening at the wrap party for those who worked on the museum move, and a few days later we opened the evening’s set for Jarvis Cocker at the main celeb-filled party.
The new museum is a wonderful space, and Sir Terence Conran, whose baby this is, gave a very emotional speech to the great and good of the design world who had been invited to the main launch. Designed by the architect John Pawson, the ex Commonwealth Institute building has been completely re-modelled from the roof down, and is well worth a visit. It certainly makes a great space for a party, as the staff and project members proved as they danced all evening to our tunes.
